Biography

Dr. Ron Everett is an associate professor in the Justice Center. He received a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania and has taught at Louisiana State University and the University of Idaho. Dr. Everett has also worked as a Senior Research Associate at the United States Sentencing Commission (USSC) and as a Social Science Analyst at the National Institute of Justice. At the USSC he helped design and conduct the national evaluation of the Federal sentencing guidelines. Dr. Everett has published in the areas of sentencing and racial/ethnic bias, juvenile sex offenders, drug treatment programs in correctional facilities, prison privatization, and clemency. His areas of expertise include sentencing and issues of disparity, corrections, criminal justice policy, and specialized courts.
