Announcing new UA Board of Regents appointees

Today, Gov. Mike Dunleavy announced two appointments to the Board of Regents. We are delighted to welcome back Regent Dale Anderson, re-appointed to an 8-year term, and new Regent Ralph Seekins, a well-known Fairbanks business owner, UAF business leader of the year [1990] and former state senator.

Job opening: Student Governance Fiscal Technician

Student Life & Leadership is looking for an experienced fiscal technician to research, reconcile, and prepare monthly financial management reports and process daily requests for financial transactions for all of ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼'s fund 9 student fee budgets including: USÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼, Student Media, Concert Board, and Green Fee Board. Pay starts at $19.34 per hour.

Maintaining connections is a crucial component of student success, but doing so can feel like an uphill battle due to the pandemic. After a well received limited rollout, the universitywide launch of the CircleIn app hopes to provide a solution by giving students a way to communicate, collaborate and earn scholarships.

Spring 2021 Topic Series

UA Human Resources Labor and Employee Engagement continues to offer the Topic Series this spring. The series is a platform for provoking thoughtful and meaningful discussions between UA employees. It operates similar to a book club. You can view topics and sign up for each discussion through the new UA Human Resources training and development webpage.

Students from the Doctor of Pharmacy Program understand the personal and historical significance of vaccinating Alaskans against COVID-19. This has left them feeling grateful and excited after they administered hundreds of vaccine doses to senior citizens in recent weeks.

Early notice of townhome rental available for Fall Semester 2021

2 BR, 2.5 bath Townhome on trail system between downtown and ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼, convenient to everything! Bikes available for use, fully furnished, can be rented through Furnished Finders or by contacts given here. Available anytime after Aug 1 and until end of January. This is our home, and we are visiting with family on east coast for an extended period of time this year. Our dates can be flexible. The house includes a gas fireplace and our very special electric sauna on the back deck. Partial Mountain View and creekside as it is at end of development with a park up the street and close proximity to Chester Creek Trail leading to ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ or Coastal Trail and downtown. We have bicycles that you are welcome to use on the trail system. Hospitals are bike-able and walk-able from here. We have a small dog that travels with us, and the house is very clean. We would consider a pet request with a pet deposit. We keep our house very clean, and you would not know that a pet lives here.

I hope your spring 2021 semester is off to a great start. The Office of Environmental Health and Safety wishes to reiterate the processes and procedures in place to safeguard the well-being of our community from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As you are likely aware, we have implemented a number of measures and support resources to help prevent the transmission of the virus and comply with guidance, recommendations and mandates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state and local governments.
