As part of the College of Health at the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼, the School
of Allied Health is home to training programs and facilities for allied health professionals.
Allied health programs are specifically designed to prepare graduates for work in
rewarding careers in Alaska's rapidly growing health care industry. In addition to
instruction by allied health professionals, most programs provide experiential education
with students working alongside health professionals in real-work situations.
The School of Allied Health also offers continuing educational opportunities for experienced
professionals who are in need of a refresher course or looking to expand their earning
potential in the job field.
Note: The following programs have moved to the School of Preventive and Therapeutic Sciences: Dental Hygiene, Dietetics & Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapist
Assistant, Speech-Language Pathology, and Health, Physical Education, & Recreation.

How integral is Providence to Alaska? Not only does the hospital make up the second half of the namesake UMED District, but the organization is the largest non-government employer in the state, naturally resulting in the employment of a large number of ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ nursing and surgical technology alumni.
