ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
Note: Admissions to the Dental Assisting program (major and pre-major) are closed, as the program is in a teach-out status and will
be discontinued after July 2025. As such, no new students will be allowed to start
the program. If you are interested in the Dental Hygiene program or other healthcare programs, please see a College of Health advisor to discuss your options.
Students in the medical assisting program at the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ College of Health benefit from a unique collaboration with the Interprofessional Health Sciences Simulation Center.
Students in fall's EMT 130 — Emergency Medical Technician I burnished their clinical and decision-making skills in a trio of rapid-fire trauma simulations, thanks to a first-time partnership between the Fire and Emergency Services program and the Interprofessional Health Sciences Simulation Center.
Over 400 high school juniors and seniors from 11 high schools across Anchorage converged on the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Alaska Airline Center on Sept. 30, 2022 to explore their future career and academic options at ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼’s Academic Preview Day.
The ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Interprofessional Health Sciences Simulation Center (IHSSC) invites the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ and broader Anchorage community to join the global celebration of Healthcare Simulation Week September 12-16, 2022.
Students in the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Paramedic Program and Nursing Program participated in an interdisciplinary simulation involving an active shooter incident at a Women's Health Center on the Mat-Su College campus.
The on-campus dental clinic enables students in the dental assisting and hygiene programs
to provide basic care to their fellow students and community members while honing
their skills.
Established by the Dietetics & Nutrition faculty, the Seawolf Food Pantry exists to
help the nearly 45% of ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ students who experience food insecurity.
