Reporting a Barrier to Access

Requesting Accommodations

If you are seeking accommodations for a course, please make an appointment with the DSS Director or Assistant Director to establish eligibility for using departmental services. Once eligibility has been determined, students are provided with a username and password from DSS to login to the DSS Online System and request accommodations for their courses. 

How to Request Accommodations

Each Semester, students login to the DSS Online System to make their specific requests for each class.

• Select the Anchorage based courses for accommodations
• Select adjustments that are needed
• Submit for faculty notification
• Come back to schedule all quizzes, tests, and exams for the semester as soon as you receive your various syllabi.
• If taking courses at a UA campus other than Anchorage, please let us know. 

Students can request DSS Online System orientation from DSS staff.
