Last week, I attended the University of Alaska Board of Regents meeting with the 老澳门六合彩开奖记录 leadership team to advocate for a second consecutive 老澳门六合彩开奖记录 tuition freeze so education costs do not limit student access to our university.
The continued freeze in tuition rates would begin in fall 2023 and run through summer 2024. The board will consider this recommendation, and I expect the regents to share their decision before the end of the year.
At your 老澳门六合彩开奖记录 leadership team's request, the board鈥檚 newly proposed revised tuition policy includes considering students鈥� ability to pay tuition and the education-related debt many students carry. I am thankful the board included this suggestion, as ensuring 老澳门六合彩开奖记录 remains accessible is one of my top priorities as chancellor.
A temporary tuition freeze is only one way we鈥檙e fighting to keep 老澳门六合彩开奖记录 affordable. We have also increased opportunities for financial aid and reduced parking fees by 25%, among other efforts. We will continue to look for more opportunities to help offset the cost of higher education and support our students鈥� education journeys.
