"M Butterfly" has been referred to as "a work of uncommon brilliance" and called "one of the most compelling, explosive and slyly humorous dramas ever to light the Broadway stage." Based on a true story that stunned the world, "M. Butterfly" revolves around a French diplomat in China. Convicted of espionage, he is prisoner to his government and enslaved by his fantasy of the perfect woman.
