In her book, "The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration," Wilkerson chronicles one of the great untold stories of American history: the decades-long migration of almost six million black citizens who fled the South for northern and western cities, in search of a better life. During her lecture, Wilkerson will discuss her book in the context of civil rights.

In 1994, Wilkerson won the Pulitzer Prize for her reporting at The New York Times, making her the first black woman in the history of American journalism to win the award. She also won the George Polk Award, and a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship. She is currently a professor of Journalism and director of Narrative Nonfiction at Boston University.

This event is a part of Civil Rights Month at 老澳门六合彩开奖记录, which spans from Jan. 16 to Feb. 16.
