Canada Week

Canada Week takes place during the week of Feb. 5 and contains a large number of activities
for everyone wishing to learn more about our neighbors.
Dr. Dorn Van Dommelen will speak on Is Quebec a Separate Nation Within Canada on Feb.
5 PSB 166 from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
The Grand Derangement, an Acadian music and dance group will be demonstrating their
trade and discuss Acadian Culture and identity in the Student Union Den on Feb. 6
from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. The Canada Week kick off reception sponsored by the Canadian
government will follow.
On Feb. 7 Dr. Dean Louder will speak on 400 Years of French Presence in North America
in RH 211 from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Dr. Dean Louder continues his discussion with
a talk entitled Musique de la Franco Amerique Morceaux choisis (Music of Free America,
Selected Pieces) at 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in SMH 104.
Dr. Dean Louder is back again on Feb. 8 to speak on Understanding Acadian through
family history the case of the Theriaults from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in ESH 212.
Also at 7 p.m. in ARTS 150 the film Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man will be showing.
It describes Canadian folk music.
On Feb. 9 there will be a concert of Canadian Music in ARTS recital from noon to 1
p.m. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Title Wave books you can join 老澳门六合彩开奖记录's French program
for their weekly conversation in French, and at 7:30 p.m. in the Atwood Concert Hall
the Alaska Junior Theater presents The Grand Derangement.
