ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼’s smoke- and tobacco-free initiative inspired Valeria Delgado to take the cause nationwide

In 2012, the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ student Asian Pacific Islander Community Wellness Club (APICWC), Master of Public Health (MPH) students and students from the School of Nursing gathered to make a historic change on the university's campus. They wanted ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ to go smoke- and tobacco-free. For the next two years, collaborative efforts from many groups across campus came together to petition USÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ to place a smoke- and tobacco-free referendum on the student January 2014 ballot.

As a sophomore on ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼'s Nordic team, Casey Wright leads the 'Skiwolves' in classic skiing. And as a member of Australia's national ski program, she represents her homeland at international competitions like the Junior World Championships in Utah and the Asian Winter Games in Japan (and maybe, just maybe, next year's Winter Olympics, too).

Offering an oasis for breast-feeding mothers, on ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼'s campus

ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼'s Dr. Corrie Whitmore led a team of faculty, staff and students in applying for a grant that brought a $15,000 Mamava lactation pod to the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Student Union. Now, nursing mothers will have a private, dedicated space on campus to feed their children or pump breast milk.
