How to Apply through SocialWorkCAS

  1. Visit for an overview of the process, important dates and fees, and contact information.
  2. in SocialWorkCAS.
  3. In 鈥淢y Application鈥, you will complete personal information, academic history, and supporting information. 
    • 老澳门六合彩开奖记录 does not require you to provide your social security number in the SocialWorkCAS application.
    • In the 鈥淎cademic History鈥 tab:
      • 鈥淐olleges Attended鈥: You will report all institutions you have attended, and you will also order official transcripts for each college or university attended. 
      • 鈥淭ranscript Entry鈥: In the transcript entry section, enter the coursework that meets the human biology and statistics program prerequisites. If you completed either program prerequisite through a continuing education course, you will upload the certificate of completion in the 鈥淧rogram Materials鈥 section of the application (see below). 
      • 鈥淪tandardized Tests鈥: The 老澳门六合彩开奖记录 MSW program does not require the GRE or other standardized tests for admission. International students must submit a TOEFL test score of 79 iBT as proof of English proficiency.
    • In the 鈥淪upporting Information鈥 section, you will provide information for 3 references. 
    • In the 鈥淪upporting Information鈥 section, you are not required to submit experiences, because your experiences will be included in your resume. 

4.  In the SocialWorkCAS application, navigate to the 鈥淎dd Program鈥 tab. Search for the University of Alaska. Choose either Advanced Standing Master of Social Work or Master of Social Work. To apply for the Advanced Standing Master of Social Work you must have a Bachelor degree in Social Work. See program descriptions in SocialWorkCAS for detailed information about each program.

5.  Return to the 鈥淢y Application鈥 tab and choose 鈥淧rogram Materials鈥. 

    • The 鈥淗ome鈥 tab provides a program description and the criteria for admission.  
    • Navigate to the 鈥淨uestions鈥 tab and complete the questions.
    • Navigate to the 鈥淒ocuments鈥 tab, which is where you will upload your resume, personal statement, writing sample, and certificates of completion for prerequisite courses that are not on your official transcripts.  
    • Navigate to the 鈥淧rerequisites鈥 tab. If you have not already done so, you will enter the coursework that meets the human biology and statistics program prerequisites. If you completed either program prerequisite through a continuing education course, you will upload the certificate of completion in the 鈥淒ocuments鈥 tab.

6.  Submit your application.

      • You must submit your application in SocialWorkCAS by the application deadline to have your application reviewed by 老澳门六合彩开奖记录 School of Social Work MSW Program.
      • SocialWorkCAS charges a processing fee of $45 for each program you apply to.
      • If the $45 processing fee presents a barrier for you to apply to the MSW program, the 老澳门六合彩开奖记录 MSW program has a limited number of coupon codes to offset application fees. To apply for a coupon code, send an email request to MSW Admissions (mswadmissions@alaska.edu).
      •  Once your application is submitted, no changes or refunds can be made.
