Nursing students honored during ceremony
by Jordana Newman |
The School of Nursing held its 2nd annual Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)/Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) white coat ceremony recognizing 15 nursing students in the graduate program.
According to School of Nursing assistant professor, Megan Volkov, the white coat ceremony is an academic ritual where a healthcare student (such as a nurse practitioner student) is welcomed into the profession as a clinical student.
鈥淚t is an honor to put the white coat on each NP student,鈥 says Volkov. 鈥淭his ritual symbolizes a student's hard work and dedication to nursing.鈥
Congratulations to our nursing students!
