The Center guides Alaskan youth & adults into health career pathways through hands-on exploration activities. These programs provide opportunities to earn entry level industry recognized credentials such as Basic Life Support, Mental Health First Aid, Mandt De Escalation Training.

Kids will participate in hands-on and engaging week-long programs to explore careers in allied health, public health, behavioral health and medicine. Each camp includes an industry recognized credential and may be offered for dual credit.

In response to the shortage of career and technical education instructors in rural Alaska, the Alaska AHEC partnered with the State of Alaska Department of Education and Early Development. Rural Health CTEPS provide districts with qualified instructors to implement career pathways in a format that best meets the needs of each school.

PATH Academies

The Pre-Apprenticeship Training in Healthcare (PATH) Academy is for Alaskans 16+ who are interested in exploring potential career opportunities within healthcare. This hands-on training helps participants to become CPR certified, receive mental health first aid training, gain job readiness skills, and learn about employment opportunities in their area.
