Departments and Programs of the College of Arts & Sciences
The College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) offers a wide-variety of courses every semester to students from all across the Univeristy of Alaska Anchorage. Within CAS, there are twenty-four major areas of study and many more areas of concentration, including minors and professional certifactes. The College offers an Associate of Arts degree and various as well as master鈥檚 and Ph.D. programs. We take pride in the quality of our instruction, the diversity of concentration areas, and our reputation as a learning community.

- Associate of ArtsThe Associate of Arts (AA) degree provides a solid foundation in mathematics and written and oral communication, the natural and social sciences, the humanities, the fine arts and early childhood development. The AA degree prepares students for career advancement and baccalaureate programs and to better understand their world.

Graduate Certificates
- Professional Certificates
Occupational endorsement certificates (OECs) are certificates requiring 29 or fewer credits to complete. These certificates provide the specialized knowledge and skills needed in specific employment sectors. Certificates will be noted on the student鈥檚 transcript upon completion and after approval by the academic department.
