Pacific Region Cultural Resources Support Project
Historic Building Survey
Wake Atoll National Historic Landmark
AERC documented the historical significance of WWII facilities at the Wake Island Airfield, in cooperation with the Pacific Region Support Center Cultural Resources office. University researchers explored the construction, use, and significance of the wartime infrastructure, including island utilities and air towers. The project aimed to mitigate the effects of deterioration and demolition on historic facilities at the Wake Atoll National Historic Landmark, and identify sites eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
