US Army Garrison - Hawaii

The US Army expanded its defense of Hawaii in the early 20th century, establishing Tripler Army Medical Center in 1907 and Schofield Barracks in 1908. The sites served the Pacific region during World War II and continue supporting military operations in the region. Nearly 3,000 military families live on Schofield Barracks today. But despite their century-old histories, both sites lacked public-facing historical information. To tell the story of these Army facilities on Oahu, AERC fabricated and installed interpretive displays that fit with existing information and architecture, and complied with requirements from the Directorate fo Public Works.
