Reports to the Office of Equity and Compliance can be made in person, via phone, email, or online by submitting an incident report. When a report is made, our staff will reach out to the Complainant and provide the resources and information necessary to ensure safety and support. A Formal Investigation will only be initiated with consent of the Complainant or when the University believes necessary.

Title IX & Sex Based Discrimination

Everyone involved in a Title IX case has rights. The rights afforded to you in the process varies depending on your role.

  • Rights of the Complainant (Victim/Survivor)
    • Right to a learning/working environment free of discrimination and harassment
    • Right to amnesty for minor policy violations uncovered through reporting
    • Right to supportive measures offered by the University
    • Right to refuse to participate in any portion of the process
    • Right to appeal a dismissal
    • Right to use an informal resolution process
    • Right to withdraw from and end the informal resolution process
    • Right to file a formal complaint and pursue a formal resolution process
    • Right to have an advisor assist during the grievance process
    • Right to an objective and impartial Investigator during the investigation process
    • Right to inspect and review any evidence obtained as part of the investigation prior to the close of the process
    • Right to receive, inspect, and write a written response to the investigative report prior to the hearing process
    • Right to have an advisor appointed during the cross-examination portion of the hearing process
